Terminally Ill Father’s Final Wish Comes True, Takes Daughter Down The Aisle (Sad story)

Interesting

Even at its most painful moments, life can be breathtakingly beautiful.

A terminally ill father’s wish was granted when relatives and wedding planners found a way for him to escort his daughter down the aisle. Pedro Villarin, 65, suffers from terminal liver cancer, but he hoped to live long enough to see his baby girl on her big day.

The brave father knew he would never be strong enough to walk beside his daughter Charlotte, but he hoped he could at least escort her with the aid of a wheelchair. Sadly, his health began rapidly deteriorating this summer. Villarin was in such bad condition that his daughter pushed her wedding forward two months to August 9.

With the help of a nurse, Villarin held his daughter’s hand from a stretcher as she walked to the alter.

“That wedding was really for him because he wanted to walk with me to the altar and witness my wedding since according to him I was his favourite daughter,” Charlotte told the Metro. “It made the day very bitter-sweet. It hurt me knowing that he would be leaving us but I was happy that he was there. I am happy he could see me get married.”

“We hired an ambulance and a private nurse. We thought he would be able to sit on a wheelchair, but he couldn’t take it and used the stretcher from the ambulance instead,” she continued. “But he really sacrificed because he felt pain in that moment. And we thank God for allowing that to happen.”

Charlotte revealed that her father passed away just a few days after the ceremony. “It was really painful but knowing that he left this world, fulfilling his dream, I’m happy already no matter what,” she said on social media.

She shared this final image from her wedding with the statement “Papu, I love you so much.”
